HOUSE:: The house itself is fabulous, a rambling 17-room plus 5 bath, 22 rooms total, 6000+ SF, quintessential classic Cape Cod, beautifully restored, gracious & upscale, designer-decorated, wonderfully light, bright, fresh & airy, with a delightful contemporary-classic decor.

 

There are 7 PRIVATE bedrooms (2 up,5 down), with flexible bedroom arrangements, including 6 queens (5 master suites, depending upon your needs), 5 full baths (2 up,3 down); a 1st floor great room with living room, dining room & its own modern kitchen; a fabulous second eat-in gourmet main kitchen with Viking commercial natural gas range, 48” Subzero refrigerator, granite countertops & a full complement of all the essentials for the discerning chef; a butler's pantry/wet bar, connected to a separate large formal dining room for 14-19; a large living room with fireplace; a library (may be used as an 8th bedroom); a 4-season sunroom/sleeping porch (may be used as a 9th bedroom); 3 fireplaces; 2 decks; 2 laundry rooms; mudroom, etc.

OCEANFRONT:: Our Chatham Harbor oceanfront is a broad, pleasant, naturally-beautiful seascape for recreation. There are 2.6 acres of mostly meadow with 300' of oceanfront dunes, tidal flats, & shore grasses between the sand & the water with a short narrow path. Leave our beach chairs, umbrellas, 'toys', etc. tucked away in our private dunes during your stay and come & go to the ocean directly across from the house (no scheduling, driving, hauling!). The activity list is endless: kayak (e.g. short paddle to 2 islands with isolated beaches!!); canoe; tube; fish; run kites; shell-seek for endless varieties (bring your water shoes!); surf-cast at midnight; swim (all tides, best at high tide); build sandcastles that no one disturbs; sunbathe; clam; late night shore campfires & s'mores; gourmet picnics at the house or at the shore; launch your sailboat from the town landing just north of the property; etc.

 

Or, if you prefer a public beach, SEVEN are located 1/2 -1-1/2 mi max from the property (Oyster Pond Nantucket Sound “children’s” beach, Claflin Landing Beach, Andrew Hardings Lane Beach, Lighthouse Beach, South Beach, Scatteree Beach, Cotchpinicut Beach) and all are a beautiful and comfortable walk for many people. Take great shore walks to world-class Chatham Bars Inn (CBI) for meals, clambakes, cocktails, tennis, etc.; or to a beautiful public beach at Claflin Landing adjacent to CBI (1/2 mi). Shore walk to pick up fish 'n chips or cooked 'n cracked lobster at Nickerson's Mkt at the Fish Pier (1/3 mi). Walk to town (less than 1 mi) via sidewalks 2/3 of the way; or walk the shore + a variety of scenic side street options to town.

Plus, since Chatham is located right at the midpoint 'elbow' of 70 mile long Cape Cod (halfway between Falmouth & Provincetown), it is the perfect launching point for endless Cape Cod explorations.
